Dearbhla & Kieran, Ballymagarvey Village

Dearbhla & Kieran's wedding was my last of 2016 and that meant that I ended the year on a mile high note! I couldn't have asked for a nicer couple, what a pair of absolute sweethearts, it was a pleasure and an honour to photograph their big day. I was also spoiled with Dearbhla's 3 besties (her maid of honour and her 2 bridesmaids). Two of these four amazing ladies are makeup artists so they did all the makeup themselves. There was so much fun and laughter during the preparations! We were very lucky with the weather, it was cold being mid-December but it was pretty sunny. It was my first time photographing a ceremony at the St. Martin of Tours Church, Culmullen. It is gorgeous church and quite bright inside which is always a plus. The reception was at Ballymagarvey Village, a venue I know well and love in every season. Being December, it was all decked for Christmas and the decorations were exquisite, both indoors and outdoors. Before it got dark, I asked Dearbhla & Kieran to step outside for a few minutes - not long as I knew they wanted to mingle and chat to their guests - and we went to the back of the main building and we took a few pictures with a beautiful post-sunset sky with 50 shades of pink as a backdrop. Later on came the time to party. Dearbhla & Kieran had chosen The Trips as their band and even though I only stayed for a few dances, I was blown away by their sheer energy and talent, they really knew how to get the crowd going and they had the dance floor packed! It really was a fantastic day and I am so glad I was the one to capture it.
